Josephine M. Brodeur, 99, of Brewster, MA died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 She was born in Shrewsbury , Massachusetts on August 13, 1926 the daughter of Italian immigrants John and Clorinda Calce.. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years Dr. Norman E. Brodeur of Webster where they had resided for over 30 years. She was predeceased by her late life partner, John Sydow She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen McFadden, two grandsons, Michael McFadden and Ryan McFadden, a granddaughter Priya McFadden and their families all from California. She will be dearly missed by her chosen family (the Mitchell's, the Brandvold's, the Sloan's and the Faucher's ) who adored her and honored her throughout her life. She was a graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester, MA and became a registered nurse; she worked in Washington, D.C., Connecticut and Massachusetts, She retired to Cape Cod later in life. She always enjoyed those around her and maintained a "joie de vivre" throughout her life. She especially treasured her time spent with loved ones. A Celebration of her Life with a Catholic Mass will be held at 11 A.M.on Friday March 6 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street in Webster, Massachusetts. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Webster, Massachusetts.
