Obituary of Maurice William Healy Jr.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maurice William Healy Jr., fondly known as Bill, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, his 91st birthday. Mr. Healy was born to Maurice William Healy Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth Berger Healy of Webster, Massachusetts. Bill attended St. Louis School in Webster. He also served 8 years in the Army National Guard. He was employed at Wajer's Express in Dudley before becoming active in assisting his sons and grandsons in establishing and operating their businesses. The latest being JP Tree Service. Bill is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dr. Adelina Healy of Dudley; a daughter, Anne Marie Safaee, and her husband Mehdi of Dudley; sons: Maurice W. Healy III and his wife Gretchen of Woodstock, Connecticut, Christopher D. Healy of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Paul E. Healy and his wife Donna of Webster; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son John P. Healy and great-grandson Jace. Bill was a member of St. Louis Church. He was a devoted fan of New England sports, and deeply committed to his love of history. Family gatherings often included stories of the past, told with remarkable detail and enthusiasm. Whether visiting historic sites or watching documentaries, he found joy in understanding where we came from. He was a former member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Above all, Bill was a hard worker, a loyal family man, and a dedicated husband. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 30, from 6–8 p.m. at Bartel Funeral Home located at 33 Schofield Ave in Dudley, MA. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Louis Church located at 14 Lake St. in Webster, MA. Bill's burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Louis Church 52 Negus St., Webster, MA.
