Obituary of David E Gould

David Gould 88 passed away peacefully after a battle with Alzheimer's disease.
David was born in Winchendon on October 12, 1937 to Burton Sr. and Eleanor Irwin Gould. He is predeceased by his wife, Elaine Carlson Gould who passed away in 2024. He leaves his son, Michael, and his wife, Carmina of Benicassim Spain and his daughter, Christine Gould Lavoie, and her husband Daniel of Dudley. David had four grandchildren: Andrea Gould and her husband Pratik Doshi, Alejandra Gould, and her husband Antonio Solsona, Brendan Lavoie and Sarah Lavoie. He had two great grandchildren, Siena Gould Doshi and Sasha Gould Doshi, as well as cousins nieces and nephews.
David graduated from Murdock high school in 1955. He played the saxophone in the marching band And was a member of the Boy Scouts. After high school he graduated from WITI – Worcester industrial technical Institute in 1957. He was a draftsmen and later a rolling mill engineer for Morgan construction company in Worcester, retiring in 1998. He traveled the world and would often tell stories of his adventures.
David and Elaine married in 1961 and settled in Oxford to raise their family. They later moved to Dudley and then Webster. David was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves, discharging in 1967.
David was a member of the first congregational church in both Oxford and Dudley. He was active in several church committees, projects and town government .
David enjoyed playing softball, bowling, gardening, and watching the Red Sox. He loved listening to country music and attending events at the Dudley and Webster Senior centers.
From an early age, David served his community his church, his community through scouting and the Lions Club. He enjoyed volunteering at the Webster Dudley food share before officially retiring from serving his community.
David dedicated his life to his family and taught us the importance of humility, positively, honesty, acts of service, acts of kindness and hard work.
We love him and will miss his smile, laugh, and sense of humor the most. The family would like to thank the staff at the overlook Vista day program for seniors with dementia and Brookdale Eddy pond West – Carebridge neighborhood memory care for their excellent care and unwavering kindness and compassion.
