After a brief illness, Louis "John" Dalterio, Jr., 62, of Dudley passed away on May 15, 2026 leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, stories, friendship, and unforgettable memories. John, also known as Lou, was born July 21, 1963 in Webster, MA, the son of the late Jack and Eunice Dalterio.
John is survived by his son, Louis John Dalterio, III and his wife, Lena, who lovingly brought into this world John's granddaughter Louisa, of Manchester, CT; his sisters, Amanda Combes Berard and Gladi Dalterio of Plainfield, CT; his brothers, William Dalterio of Manchester, CT, Steven Combes and his wife, Debora, of Cumberland, RI, and David Dalterio and his wife, Lisa, of Webster; his former wife, Tammy Dalterio; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
With his infectious laugh and his legendary beard, John lived life on his own terms. A Master Mechanic with a deep love for classic cars, John took pride in the many cars he restored. He also loved to cook, especially anything Italian. John was also a self-proclaimed fish & chips aficionado who appreciated a good plate, good company, and a good laugh.
A proud Marine, John carried strength, loyalty, and humor through every chapter of his life. He was a true friend to many. As a member and Sargent-at-Arms of the American Legion Post 184 in Webster, John enjoyed spending time with friends and fellow Veterans.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Though gone too soon, the laughter he shared and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of family and friends.
