Worcester - Donald E. Fugere, 81, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 15, 2016. He was born in Worcester, son of Clancy and Elsie (Stebbins). Don is survived by his beloved wife, soulmate of 13 years, and partner in faith Judith Morris-Fugere (Daley); children John (partner Joan Hall), Worcester, Donna (Bob) Fulginiti, Shrewsbury, Alan, W. Boylston, Kathy (Gerry) Sandstrom, Dudley, Glen Scott (Christine), Jacksonville, FL; brother Stanley, former wife Ruth (Bob) Downs, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and stepsons Geoffrey Morris (partner Abby Falk), Auburn, and James (Karri), Columbia, SC. He was predeceased by siblings: Charles, Lorraine Martinez, Carol Gould, and Albert; and grandson Alan D. Fugere, Jr.
Don was known for his humor, quick wit and strong faith. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, at Blessed Sacrament Church. A friend of Bill W. for 34 years, Don was an alcohol and drug abuse counselor for many years.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Feb. 18th at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 551 Pleasant St., Worcester. (No calling hours.) Burial later at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church.
