Webster, MA – James (Jim) C. Jodoin passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025.
Jim was loved and will be missed by his family; his long-time friend and companion Elaine Jean of Dudley, MA, Elaine’s daughter Andrea Krensky and her husband Robert of Sutton, MA, her son Stephen Jean and his wife Susan of Oxford, MA and her granddaughters, Alexandra Krensky of Washington D.C. and Madeleine Jean of Oxford, MA. Jim was born on January 5, 1938, and was the only child of the late Clarence and Cora (Lang) Jodoin of Webster, MA
A 1955 graduate of Bartlett High School, Jim was very proud to have served as co-captain of the 1954 football team, and to have helped defeat then rival Mary Wells (Southbridge) High School in the Thanksgiving game that year, 27-0.
Upon graduation, Jim attended Nichols College and earned an associate degree in 1957. Jim then enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving primarily in West Germany. Honorably discharged in 1960, Jim returned to Nichols and graduated with a BSBA in 1962. Jim later earned an MBA from Western New England College, and then embarked on an over 30-year career as an insurance executive in Hartford, CT. Jim lived in the Greater Hartford area during that time. A devoted son, Jim retired early from his successful career and returned to his childhood home on Thompson Road to care for his mother in 1995.
Jim loved travel and sports cars, and thoroughly enjoyed combining these passions with a cross-country trip with Elaine in his 2003 Porsche Boxter, during which they toured several National Parks, with the Grand Cannon being a particular highlight.
Jim was a gracious host and loyal friend. He will also be missed by the surviving members of the Bartlett Class of 1955, who still meet for a reunion on an annual basis.
