Webster-Anita C. L. (Dion) Pontbriant 90 Passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side. Born in Webster on July 5, 1918, daughter of Joseph Alfred and Diana M. (Paquette) Dion and lived here all her life.
She is survived by two daughters, Muriel L. Pontbriant of Webster and Simone V. Fierro and her husband Richard of North Grosvenordale, CT, four grandchildren, Joel J. Fierro and his wife Carla of North Grosvenordale, CT. , Richard L. Fierro of Greenbackhill, Virginia, Mark K. Fierro and his wife Tabitha of Andover, NY and Candace M. Schneggenburger and her husband Alec of Fairport, NY, along with 9 great-grandsons and 1 great grand-daughter and 3 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves 2 sisters, Gloria E. Dupras and her husband Raymond of Apollo Beach, FL and Bernice I. Collins of Oxford, MA,
and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Lucien A. and a son, Armand L., two sisters, Muriel L. Dion and Jeannette D. Dion; two brothers, Vernon L. Dion and Roger E. Dion.
She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish of Webster.
She served many years as a Girl Scout leader of then Troop 6 of Sacred Heart Parish. She was a charter member of the Webster Emblem Club #129 and was its first treasurer and maintained that position for many years. She also belonged to the Webster Woman's Club and served as its auditor.
The family extends thanks to the Visiting Nurse Association, the staff at Webster Manor and to Overlook Hospice for the care, concern, and dignified and compassionate care given to her throughout her short illness.
Services : Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday JUNE 16 at 11 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 18 East Main Street burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery Webster. A calling hour will be Tuesday morning from 9 :30 to 10:30 AM in Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel 33 Schofield Ave. Dudley Donations may be made in her memory to the Pontbriant Scholarship Fund c/o Saint Anne School, P.
