Obituary of Joan J. Ritchie

DUDLEY, MA - Joan J. (Courtney) Ritchie died peacefully July 24, 2009 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Worcester, MA after an illness. She was married for 50 years to Severin J. Ritchie II who passed away in 2004. Joan was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Nierodzinski) Courtney and lived in Dudley her entire life. She was a graduate of Bartlett High School and worked for many years as a waitress at The Lodge Restaurant in Webster. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon McPherson and husband, Bruce, of Centerville, MA; Debra Ritchie of Dudley and a son, Severin J. Ritchie III and wife, Deana, of Norwood, MA; grandchildren Timothy and Patrick McPherson, of Centerville, MA; Jonathan Jacques of Webster, MA; Jennifer Jacques of Worcester, MA; Severin IV and Kristen Ritchie of Dudley; Matthew and Camille Ritchie of Norwood and great-grandson, Patrick M. McPherson. She was predeceased by her daughter, Beth Sullivan who passed away in 1986 and her brother, James Courtney who died on July 19, 2009.
