Obituary of Anna Miskiavitch

DUDLEY- Anna Miskiavitch, 98, of Scranton, PA, died Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Arlene Swantek. Her husband, William, died in 1960. Born in Dudley, Mass., daughter of the late Ignatius and Walentyna Orlowski Olszta, she had been employed for many years by the Stevens Linen Mill, Dudley. She was a lifelong resident of Dudley, prior to residing with her daughter for the past five years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, Webster, Mass., its Blessed Sacraments Society and was a former member of the St. Cecelia Choir. Surviving are a daughter, Arlene and husband, Prime Bishop Emeritus John Swantek, Scranton; four grandchildren: Lynn and husband, Kevin Pfohl, Scranton; John Swantek and wife Wendy, Clarence, NY, Leslie and Melissa Swantek, both of Scranton; eight great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Matthew and Olivia Pfohl, Cameron and Casey Swantek and Kaitlyn and Celeste Gingerlowski. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Miskiavitch, who died October 1958; four brothers: Joseph, John, Frank and William Olszta, who died June 3; and three sisters: Monica, Philomena and twin sister, Anastasia Olszta. The funeral will be Thursday at 9 am from the Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, with Mass at 10 am in Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, Webster. Interment, parish cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, 68 Lake St., Webster, Mass., 01570.
