Obituary of Roger L. Forcier

Killingly - Roger L. Forcier, 77, of 167 Kelly Rd., died peacefully Friday June 23 after a long illness at his home with his family at his side. He leaves one son: Joseph Forcier and his wife Patricia of Brooklyn, CT. One sister Doris Vallee of Dudley. Five grandchildren Christopher , Selena,Jeremy ,Angelina and Joshua . Five great grandchildren Coreena, Tyler ,Dorian,Viktor and Charles Joseph. A nephew Donald Vallee and a dear friend Mary Servant . He was predeceased by two daughters Gloria Forcier and Dorothy Norris. He was born in Webster, MA, the son of the late Joseph O.Forcier and the late Alice (Plasse) Forcier.He was raised in Webster and Dudley. He graduated from college in Canada . He was a member of the Dudley Fire Dept. during the 60's and served a term on the board of fire engineers. He also was a former member of the CT. State Police Auxiliary. He worked 15 years as maintenance mechanic at the former American Optical Co. in Southbridge. Roger lived several years in Thompson , before moving to his home in Killingly in 1977. Roger was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. A funeral will be held Tuesday June 27 with a Mass at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St., Webster. Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Of Jesus Cemetery, Webster Calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley, MA www.bartelfuneralhome.com .
