Dudley - Ida (Dargati) Menzone, 73, died peacefully Friday, June 8, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Putnam, CT, the daughter of the late James and the late Andronica (Fatsi) Dargati. She graduated from Tourtellotte Memorial High School. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Ida was always positive and resilient despite hardships. She leaves her husband of 48 years, Donald Menzone; her children, Cheryl Ritchie and fiance Anthony Theodoss of Dudley and Greg Menzone and his wife Kristen of Willmington, MA; her brother, George Dargati and his wife Betty of Tolland, CT; her grandson, Sevi and girlfriend Courtney Delude; her granddaughter Kristen; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Viola Dargati. Ida was the cornerstone of her family and enjoyed New England sports, following the Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics. Mrs. Menzone was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. In her own words, Ida's favorite way to spend time was with her wonderful husband, Donald Menzone. A special thanks to Dr. Edminston and the Oncology department at UMass Memorial Medical Center, for their knowledge, support, and compassion. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 15 at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Rd., Dudley. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Dudley.
