Obituary of Ronald Jakubowski

Dudley - Ronald Jakubowski, 65, died Thursday, January 2 at his home after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 46 years, Mary (Franklin) Jakubowski. three daughters: Karen Fontaine and Her Husband Donald of Pascoag, RI, Dawn Clark and her husband Mike of Dudley and Lisa Jakubowski of Chandler, AZ . His pride and joy his three Grandchildren, Jessica and Sean Clark and Tyler Fontaine; Two sisters: Jeanne Thomay and her husband Frank of Hingham, MA, Mary Piette of Chandler , AZ Several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother, Richard Jakubowski He was born in Webster, MA, the son of the late Alexander and the late Ann (Mazurek) Jakubowski. Ron graduated from Marianapolis in 1966 and from Fordham University in 1971. His family founded the Thrifty Super Market in Webster . He had a career in property management . A past member of Webster-Dudley Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. Ron was instrumental in fundraising for local youth with the Pro-AM golf tournament acting as tournament director for 8 years. He enjoyed golf, croquet on his court. He was an enthusiastic fan of Indy car racing . Most of all he loved his family and taking family vacations to Disney and the beach. A funeral will be held Monday Jan. 6 from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, with a Mass at 10AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Rd., Dudley. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 PM.
