Jimmy your dad enjoyed farming very much, when he had to retire I know it began to hurt him as he missed it doing it all the farm chores, burning wood for the winter and looking back on what he made of it his property, buying all that land & preserving it for conservation purposes.
He believed in open space for a future in a farming learning center.
His devotion for the love of his animals & all the wildlife that thrived on the property he always loved seeing it each day to sunrise to sunset thru his kitchen & living room windows.
He could show you on where on the property where he found the timber rattle snake den, or the large white owl, where the deer would flourish and the best fishing spot along the shoreline of his property of the Quinebaug River.
I remember they day he was so excited on seeing an American Bald Eagle come sweeping down on the river and hunting on the farm property the eagle did. The eagle was free and as your dad has said he wanted to be free.
As he called me at my state forest headquarters, before I retired.
And he got that chance all those years when he farmed and raised his whole family doing it with his lovely wife Beverly.
Jimmy you made your dad happy and he will always remember it, you & him was alike as the both of you loved farming while the other siblings went there parted ways.
Make him rest in peace forever Edwin Zajac.
