Rose Marie (Kalagher) Sullivan
Rose M. Sullivan, 79, of North Oxford, and West Yarmouth, MA, passed on April 17, 2016 after a short period of declining health. Beloved wife of the late William J. Sullivan, who passed in 1995, daughter of Walter and Rose (Chalifoux) Kalagher. Rose was predeceased by her brother Walter and sister Violet.
Rose is survived by her 4 children; daughters Debra Bolio (Douglas Grasso) of Oxford, MA, Laurie Sullivan (fiancé Charles Bamforth) of North Oxford, MA, and sons Steven Sullivan and wife Leslie of Dudley, MA and Thomas Sullivan and wife Shannon of North Oxford, MA. She also leaves behind beloved grandchildren Ashley Karle (Daniel) of Dudley, Amanda Bolio (fiancé Brian Murphy) of Oxford, MA, Katherine Stefanik, Timothy William Sullivan, Kevin Patrick Sullivan and Rachel Rose Sullivan all of Dudley, MA, and Erin Rose and William Sullivan of North Oxford, MA. She was also great-grandmother to Camden William, and twins Makenna and Mason Karle of Dudley, MA. Rose also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Rose was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother as well as a prolific baker and marvelous cook. Her family especially looked forward to the traditional St. Patrick's Day meal and celebration at Grammy's house.
Rose began her career working at the Phone Company, and enjoyed a long and productive career in banking, first as an A.V.P. with Guaranty Bank (later Bank of New England), and finally retiring with FDIC in 2000. Rose served on the Town of Oxford Charter Review Committee from 1980 to 1981, and was a Town Election Worker for Precinct II from 2009 to 2012. Rose was also a long-time member and Officer of NARFE.
Rose enjoyed playing cards, board games, trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan, annual trips to Las Vegas, as well as trips with the Leicester Senior Center and traveling with the Love of her Life, Billy. Rose loved Neil Diamond, Elvis, JFK, and the Red Sox - not necessarily in that order.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Galica of Worcester, MA for over 30 years of care and most recently the staff of Overlook Post Acute Care (Charlton, MA) for the care and especially the compassion shown to Rose in the last few weeks.
Friends and family are invited to attend Calling hours on Wednesday April 20th from 4 to 7 PM at Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel 33 Schofield Ave.Dudley . Funeral services on Thursday April 21 at 10 AM in the funeral home.Burial will follow in St. Roch's Cemetery Oxford.
