Florence Elizabeth "Florabeth" Grout, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, died January 22 at age 90 in Holyoke, MA. Daughter of Walden and Estella Wing, she is survived by her husband Rev. Prescott Grout, seven children Deborah, David, Salinda , Sandra, Stephen, Peter Robert and Shalene; by one sister Louise Wilhelm (Bruce) and one brother Lawrence Wing (Shirley); and by her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews as well as others she affectionately "adopted."
Florabeth was active in church and in youth ministry. She was an avid gardener with a rich knowledge of the area's flora and fauna but her greatest joy was time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 3:00pm Sunday, January 29 at the United Methodist Church, 30 Carew St., South Hadley, MA.
