My first memory of my cousin Eddie is of a 15 year old who was like a whirlwind around my Aunt and Uncle's home. My late Dad and I had come to visit our American family for the first time, my Aunt had left England to join her American husband at the end of World War 11. Eddie was so excited he punched a hole in his bedroom when he knew we had arrived. He fell in love with my father and for the time we were with them he became my Dad's shadow. He would hang off my Dad's neck telling him how much he loved him and Dad would say I love you too boy. He used to like going out in his Dad's car but would stay in the car as he was anxious of people's reaction to him but one day my Dad and Eddie's Dad were in the supermarket when they heard a voice saying Frank, Frank where are you Frank? he had overcame his anxiety to try and find my Dad. He loved his dog Laddie and would spend lots of time with him out in the yard, in his own way he was incredibly smart. He knew the television schedules off by heart and seemed to have a photographic memory. So lovely to read the tributes to Eddie by people who cared for him and how he got into people's hearts and minds. I would like to pay a tribute to my late Aunt Silver she and his sister my lovely cousin Judy are the reason Eddie was able to live such a fulfilling life and to survive to the age he did. Because of his disabilities and heath issues life was not easy for them as a family and my Aunt fought tirelessly for Eddie and for people like him to make life better for them. When my amazing Aunt Silver died Judy took over the mantle of ensuring Eddie was well cared for and Judy you and Ron could not have done more for your brother. His passing is very sad and is especially hard for his sister Judy, husband Ron and nephew Chris who grew up around his Uncle Eddie but it is also a celebration of a long life well lived. Thanks for the memories Eddie rest easy. Special love from your English cousin Jeanette. xx

My condolences go out to Ed's family. It was a great honor to serve Ed at Prospect Street for the years he lived there. I was saddened to learn of his passing. I hope he is enjoying eternal rest! May God keep all who new Ed in the palm of his hand during this time of grief. I will miss Ed terribly, he will for ever hold a very special place in my heart.

Ed is a man who has touched my heart. It was my pleasure to work for him. I cannot count the number of times he made me laugh. He added such life to the program. He was famous for giving people nicknames. Not sure how he came up with them but they all had some kind of meaning to him that meant something, I will forever be known as Chris Everett and I will miss my George! Rest in Peace Buddy I miss you!

Ed was a wonderful man with many talents. Whether it was telling us what happened on the evening news or singing us songs about Elvis and the "oldies" he was a winner. I am glad I was able to get to know him and thank his family for the privilege. Our hearts hurt with his loss but his memory is fresh and clear and will always be filled with smiles.
