Obituary of Robert J. Daniels

DUDLEY- Robert J. Daniels, 90, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Born September 13, 1927 in Webster, Bob was the son of the late Joseph P. Daniels and Virgilia (Perry) Daniels of Dudley. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Teresa E. (Matteau) Daniels in 2006; by his daughters, Deborah Daniels in 2013 and Pamela Daniels in 2015. He is survived by his son, Gregory R. Daniels and daughter-in-law Janice (Grzyb) Daniels of Webster; by his son, Geary J. Daniels and daughter-in-law Mary (Gaudere) Daniels of Dudley; by his son-in-law, Joseph Gadoury and his son Brian Gadoury; by his five grandchildren, Megan Daniels and her husband William Belley, Ryan Daniels and his wife Adrienne, Maura Bruell and her husband Daniel, Justin Daniels and his wife Amanda, Taylor Daniels, and Tara Daniels; by his great grandson, Grayson Belley; by his uncle Paul Perry; by his special niece, Diana Nachajko and several other nieces and nephews. Bob attended the Dudley Public Schools and later graduated from Bartlett High School in 1945. He was on the varsity football and baseball teams. Later, he went on to play for the Webster Colonials, a semi-pro football team. Robert was a dedicated auto mechanic for forty years. In 1955, he opened the Daniels City Service Station in Worcester. Then in 1975, he owned and operated the Robert Daniels Texaco Station in Dudley. A funeral Mass celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 13th at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St., and Webster. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 13th from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, MA.
