Obituary of GERALD R BERUBE

Gerald R Berube, age 82, of Dudley died peacefully Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Overlook Masonic Health Center of Charlton, MA. Gerald was born June 18, 1935 in Livermore Falls, ME. He is the son of the late Wilfred and the late Marie (Gilbert) Berube. Gerry is survived by his wife of 60 years Rose (Mula) Berube, three daughters: Monica Stevens and her husband Joseph of Charlton, MA, Susan Berube of Worcester, MA, Mary Ann Johansen of Dudley, MA and five sons: Gerald Berube Jr. of Dudley, MA, David Berube of Dudley, MA, Kenneth Berube and his wife Nancy of Groton, CT, Daniel Berube and his wife Missy of Thompson, CT, Thomas Berube of Putnam, CT; Brother: Richard Berube of Remsen, NY; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Gerry was predeceased by sibling's Norman, Lucille, and Robert. Gerry served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany for a time. Gerry was a truck driver and "truly enjoyed" his vocation. Gerry's truck driving began a bit before he was of driving age, when he drove a dump truck for a local farmer in his home town of Livermore Falls. As a teenager (licensed by then) he'd drive a produce truck from Livermore Fall's to Boston weekly. While Gerry operated many types of road truck over the years, he drove semi-tractor trailer trucks for most of his career, retiring from Keebler Foods in 1997. Gerry enjoyed playing golf, shooting pool, spending time with family and friends, and watching sports and wildlife. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday Jan. 17 at 10 AM in St. Anthony Of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Rd. Burial will follow in Waldron Cemetery, Dudley, Calling hours will be Tuesday Jan. 16 from 5 to 7 PM at Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Avenue Dudley www.bartelfuneralhome.com ,
