Webster - Ernest Bruell, 92, of 50 Upper Gore Rd., died Saturday, June 30 in Hubbard Regional Hospital, Webster after an illness. His wife Matylda (Holec) Bruell died in 1974. He leaves his companion with whom he made his home Sophie Held. Two sons: Peter Bruell of Wells, Me and Paul Bruell of Dudley. Two daughters Kristina Teare of Hull and Janina Christie of Wellesley . A brother Edwin Bruell of Dudley and 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. He was born in Bialasko-Bila, Poland the son of the late Walter and Elfreda (Schreinzer) Bruell He immigrated to Dudley from Poland in 1961. He worked 20 years at Angelo Fabrics retiring as a Textile Technician in 1981.He was proud of his Polish heritage and his family . During WW II Ernest and his two brothers and father were Prisoners of War and held at the Nazi camps Auschwitz and later Buchenwald. They all were tattooed with consecutive numbers and all survived the camps. His funeral will be held Tuesday July 3 from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley with a Mass at 10AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St Burial will follow in St. Joseph Garden Of Peace Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday July 2 from 5 to 8 PM.
