Obituary of June E. Dwyer

WEBSTER- June E. (Spahl) Dwyer, 82, a retired nurse, accomplished knitter and devoted wife and mother, died August 7 in UMASS Memorial-University Campus after a short illness. She leaves her husband of 59 years, Charles E. Dwyer.
Three daughters: Kathleen Bolduc of Newport, RI; Jane D. Carrington of Putnam, CT; Mary E. and her husband Patrick Hegarty of Arlington, MA . Three sons: John Dwyer of San Diego, CA; Timothy C. Dwyer and his wife, Karen, of Vienna, VA; Chuck Dwyer and his wife, Kathy, of Medway. A loving grandmother to ten grandchildren, Hannah and Chuck Bolduc, Dialynn,Amberlena,Gwynna, and Quinn Dwyer, Dominic Hegarty and Brennan,Matthew and Adam Dwyer. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert L. Spahl .
She was born in Webster, the daughter of the late Alvin and the late Mary (Farrell) Spahl. She lived here all her life before moving to Overlook in Charlton a few months ago. She graduated from Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse at Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster and Harrington Hospital in Southbridge. She later worked in medical utilization review for Aetna Insurance until her retirement in 1983. June enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time on Cape Cod with her family.
She was a member of St. Louis Church, weekly adorer at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and a past member of Hubbard Regional Hospital Guild all in Webster. She also was a volunteer at the Pink House in Woodstock CT.
Her funeral will be held FRIDAY Aug.10 from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St., Webster. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are TONIGHT, Aug. 9, from 5 to 8 PM .
