Dudley - George William Yancik, 63, of Perryville Rd., Born 4-20-44 to the late Martin and Mae (Monette) Yancik died Friday, August 24 in Oakwood Rehab. &Nursing Center, Webster after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Betty Lou (Chase) Yancik. two sons: Jon M. Yancik and his wife Beckie Derek S. Yancik and his wife Karen all of Dudley. One daughter: Heather P. Lamica and her husband Craig of Webster . Five grandchildren Mitchell Yancik , Twins Kyle W. and Andrew S. Yancik , Madison P. and Chase J. Lamica . A sister Mary E. and her Husband Donald Moats of Hammond Ind.,
A brother Paul D. Yancik of Ca. and 2 nephews Paul Yancik and David M. Moats. Predeceased by a son Kyle J. Yancik.
He attended schools in Hammond Indiana and the enlisted in the Navy from 1961 to 1965 serving his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis . In 1975 he returned to serve 4 years in the naval reserves . He worked 32 years as a Electrical Technician at the General Motors plant in Framingham and reired from Tonawanda ,NY Engine Plant.
George was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church , Westminster Ma. Where he faithfully served as a Host . He was an avid Patriot's Fan and an enthusiastic woodsman .
A service of Christian Burial with Pastor Don Colageo will be held Tuesday, August 28 at 10 AM in Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday Aug. 27 from 6 to 8 PM .
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Mission fund for futher spreading of the Gospel at Our Savior. PO Box 459 Westminster, MA 01473-0459
