Dudley - Loretta Frances (Nowosadko) Bruell, 84,died Saturday, September 22 in Hubbard Regional Hospital, Webster. She leaves her husband of 56 years, Edwin E. Bruell. Three sons Clifford J. Bruell of North Chelmsford, Jeffrey W. Bruell of Mountain Top PA. and Gregory A. Bruell of Needham Heights. A daughter: Barbara B. Bruell of Sammamish, Washington State. A sister Anita Belleville of Dudley and 7 grandchildren several nieces and nephews. She was born in Dudley, the daughter of Leonard V. Nowosadko.and Mary Anna Pliszka and lived here all her life. Mrs Bruell Graduated from Bartlett High School, Webster, Massachusetts 1941. Played girl's field hockey, basketball, and softball. She Worked for American Optical in Southbridge Massachusetts in "The Pen" weighing parts (some gold). 1941-1943 She Served in United States Navy during World War II. Entered United States Navy December 16, 1943. Basic training at Hunter College in New York. Rank: Yeoman Second Class. She attended Oklahoma A.M. for refresher courses in typing, shorthand, etc. Served in Washington, DC at the Bureau of Personal in the office of Admiral Bull Halsey, "Casualties and Allotment Section". Left United States Navy in April 1947. Worked for Massachusetts Division of Employment Security in Southbridge Massachusetts 1947-1952. Also worked part-time for Dudley Welfare Department 1947 for about one year. Worked for Dudley Massachusetts as Clerk of Board of Health in 1970's. Her Hobbies: bird watching, gardening, reading, correspondence, cats, dogs and walking . She enjoyed traveling abroad Travels to Morocco. Norway one time. England twice. Ireland one time. Italy one time. Poland three times. Israel twice. St Lucia, Aruba, Bermuda, Margarita Island, Venezuela, St. Martin. Mexico. She was a member of St. Andrew Bobola Church and the Holy Rosary Sodality for many years. Her funeral will be held Tuesday September 25, with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church 54 West Main St., Dudley. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 PM at Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave. In lieu of flowers donations should be sent to the St. Andrew Bobola care of Holy Rosary Sodality P.O. Box 98, Dudley, MA 01571.
