Joan L. Scanlon, 87, of Worcester died Sunday, May 7, 2023. She leaves her son, Richard E.
Scanlon Jr. and his wife, Wendy of Charlton, her granddaughter Kathryn M. Vear and her

Joan was born and lived much of her life in Worcester, MA. She was the daughter of Stanley D.
and Doris (Burns) Conrad. She graduated Commerce High School and became a well-respected
beautician in the Tatnuck area for over 50 years.
Joan spent many summers in Wells, Maine enjoying Moody Beach, Nubble Lighthouse, and
spying on President Bush in Kennebunkport. She loved travel, and art and spent much of her
retirement passing this passion on, frequenting the Worcester Art Museum. She was the
backbone of the Scanlon family, being the life of the party, and looking regal while doing so.
