Dudley - Mary Catino, 81, of Joshua Place Apts., died Thursday Oct. 13 in St.Vincent Hospital At Worcester Medical Center. Her husband Victor Catino died in 1983. She leaves four daughters Linda Saad of Sutton, Joan Christenson ,Patricia Plasse and Barbara Lenky all of Webster . Three sons Victor Catino of Bridgewater, Paul Catino of Webster and Richard Catino of Hudson. A sister Gertrude Wonoski of Dudley, 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews .Predeceased by a son David Catino. She was born in Southbridge, the daughter of the late Leland and Anna (Vancelette) Laferriere. Mary graduated from Notre Dame in Southbridge and attended Worcester State College. She worked at the American Optical , Shepherd Hill Regional High School for ten years , Tri-Valley and then as an Assistant to the Juvenile probation officers at the Dudley District from 1984 to her retirement in 1992. In her retirement she continued to volunteer with the Montachusett Girl Scout Council in her more than 48 years of service she chaired many committees and events. Mary had received dozens of awards from the girl scouts and her community. Her funeral will be held Monday Oct. 17 from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Avenue,, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St., Webster. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday Oct.16 from 2 to 5 PM.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Louis Church or Tri-Valley Elder Services 251 Main St.Webster MA 01570.
