Obituary of Alice Y Langlois

Alice Y. Langlois, age 81, of Dudley died Friday, July 21, 2023 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center -University Campus of Worcester, MA. after an illness. Alice was born April 9, 1942 in Southbridge, MA. She is the daughter of the late Aime and the late Alice (Picard) Morin She is survived by four daughters: Laura Kolodziejczak of North Grosvenordale, CT, Gail Herrick and her husband Jim of Holland, Ma, Debra Mills and her husband Chad of Francestown, NH and Karen Shippee of Southbridge, MA, her sister Jeanne Steppic of Southbridge ; 12 grandchildren: Jonathan, Nicholas and Stephany Kolodziejczak, Justin and Brandon Shippee, Phillip and Mathew Langlois, Jamie, Jason ,Lucas, Jackson, and Alexander Mills, her great grandchild Maya Mills, and her close companion Jim D'Auria of Dudley, as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers, Alfred Morin and Henri Morin. Alice lived most of her life in Dudley and she treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was a 1960 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Southbridge. She worked at the Hanover Insurance Company as a legal Administrative Assistant in the General Councils Office and retired at the age of 63 after 22 years of service. She was active in the Dudley Community as Chairperson on the Council on Aging for 4 years, knitted and crocheted at the Dudley Senior Center and was a counter at St. Anthony of Padua Parish for many years. Alice loved her trips to Aruba and spending time at the beach. She enjoyed taking care of her flower garden and watching the birds come to visit. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10am on Wednesday August 2, 2023 at St. Anthony Of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Rd., Dudley, MA with Fr. Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery Worcester Rd. Webster . In lieu of flowers Alice's request was donations to the Cancer Center at Harrington 55 Sales St. Southbridge, MA 01550 Bartel Funeral Home and Chapel 33 Schofield Ave. Dudley is directing arrangements online.
