Obituary of Marcella Oklatir

Marcella Oklatir,103 of Webster died Sunday August 27,2023. Marcella was born March 9, 1920 in Worcester, MA. She is the daughter of the late Nicodemus and the late Christina (Pigaga) Meskinis. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Oklatir in 1988. by her nephew, Richard E. Adamaitis, sister, Lucy Adamaitis, and daughter, Irene Oklatir. She is survived by loving and caring daughter: Dorothy Oklatir of Webster, Marcella worked as a clerk for the Ma. division of employment security ,American Steel and Wire . City of Worcester in the clerks office retiring in 1991 at the age of 71 . She graduated with honors from Commerce High School in Worcester and Slater Secretary School. She was a communicant at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and enjoyed time with her sister moving to Webster to care for her sister Lucy She enjoyed watching the Wheel of Fortune traveling ,gardening, crossword puzzles, scrabble, crocheting ,swimming and reading and trips to Daytona Beach. Dinners at Village Haven, Wrights farm and the restaurants at Foxwood's She was proud to serve the City of Worcester during WWII as Deputy Precinct Warden in the Civil Defense Program .Former member of our lady of Vilna and St. Casimir Church She was devastated in 1973 on the death of her daughter Irene in a house fire . A Mass of Christian burial will be held 0n Wednesday Sept. 6 at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St., Webster. Burial will follow in St Johns Cemetery, Worcester.
