Obituary of Marcella Groth

DUDLEY - Marcella Groth, age 86, died Monday, May 13, 2024 at Notre Dame Long Term Care of Worcester, MA. after illness with her family at her side. Marcy was born November 5, 1937 in Webster, MA. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Josephine (Kiwak) Skrzypczak. She was predeceased by her husband, John Groth in 1998. Marcy was a resident of Sturbridge the last 20 years and a native of Dudley for over 40 years. She is survived by one son: Michael Paschopoulos and his companion Carlene Higgins of Webster, MA and;one daughter: Paula Paschopoulos and her companion Vinny Polletta of Dudley, MA and a dear Cousin, Adam Skrzypczak of Webster, MA. A loving grandmother to her grandchildren , Matthew Paschopoulos , Mikayla Paschopoulos and Ryan Shea . She had 6 great grandchildren that she cherished, along with 2 nephews and a niece. She enjoyed being with family and friends and the ocean and Sunshine. She was a respected employee at the Southbridge Savings Bank for many years and had worked at the A.O. in Southbridge in her early years . For many years of her life she was a well known bartender at the former Webster Lodge of Elks lodge 1466 on School St and later at the Cudworth Rd. lodge. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 24 at 11 AM in St. Joseph Garden Of Peace Cemetery, Worcester Rd., Webster, MA . Memorial calling hours will be Thursday, May 23 from 6 to 8 PM at Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley, MA. A celebration of life at the TSKK Club on Harris St. in Webster will be held after the service on Friday. All are welcome to attend the celebration. Marcy always enjoyed a party.
