Obituary of Mary Ann Rock

Mary Ann (Fiske) Rock passed away at home in Dudley, Ma. surrounded by her loving family on July 4, 2024 She was Predeceased by her husband Bernard Joseph Rock in 2005, brother Edwin J. Fiske, sister Joan Petrarca, son in law Michael Rivera and beloved grandson Nicholas Rivera. She was a loving mother to 4 children Susan Rivera, Maureen Saad and her husband Michael of Webster, Ma., David and his Wife Karen (DeSilva) Rock of Lehigh Acres, Florida and Kathleen Gerhard and her husband Paul of Dudley, Ma. with whom she lived these last few years. She leaves her sister Dorothy Claprood and her husband Paul of Shelby, NC. as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary adored and loved spending time with her Grandchildren Devan Rock of Davie, Florida, Peter Gerhard and his wife Arica of Thompson Ct., Alex Rivera of Oxford. Ma, Kevin Gerhard of Dudley, Ma. and Samantha Saad of Leominster, Ma. and her 3 Great Grandchildren Rylee Rose, Eleanor Victoria and Henry Woods. She was born in Cranston RI, the daughter of the late Edwin Yates and Dorothy M. (Young) Fiske. She grew up in Webster, Ma. graduating from St. Louis School in 1958. She married her husband Bernard J. Rock in 1960 and raised their 4 children in Dudley always faithfully and proudly attending all of their school and sporting events. Mary and Bernard retired to Lehigh Acres, Florida in 1997 to enjoy the warmer climate and be closer to their son David and Daughter in law Karen. She moved back home to Dudley in 2021.Mary found comfort in watching Daily Mass , saying the rosary and her daily prayers. Mary loved to play Bingo, going to the casino but her favorite past time was spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed talking on the phone with her sister Dotty , her close friend Cynthia or catching up with family and seeing them on the portal. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Dudley, Ma. There will be no calling hours and a funeral Mass will be on Thursday July 11th at 11:00 am. at St. Anthony of Padua Church 24 Dudley Hill Rd. Her burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Anthony of Padua Church, Dudley.
