Theodore “Ted” Daniel Geotis, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday July 16, 2024 Ted was born May 2, 1951 in Webster, MA. He is the son of the late James and Victoria Geotis. Ted was predeceased by his infant son William, brothers John and David Geotis, sisters Thelma Carpenter and Doris Maniatis, step-son Ofc Michael Lee and Goddaughter and niece Det. Cynthia Johnson Ted is survived by his step-son Shawn Sandgren (Joann) from Southbridge, his brothers Chris (Joan) and Jay Geotis both of Webster, sisters Helen (Raymond) Lepine of Brooklyn CT and Evelyn Aperges of Webster, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, great and great great nieces and nephews, and his good friend David Heller Ted graduated Bartlett High School and was an avid sports fan. He played Varsity football for 3 years and 4 years semi-pro football being named Allstar Quarterback in 1975; He even tried out for the New York Jets. Ted was invited to play in the Harry Arganis Bowl in Boston. Ted was President and Founder of the Webster men’s touch football league. He introduced night softball to Webster and was President of the Webster Softball League for 5 years. He coached several baseball and football teams though the years. Ted was inducted to the BHS Hall of Fame in 2002. Ted also enjoyed golf as often as possible with his circle of friends. Ted was a man of few words with a gentle soul and big heart. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Ted retired from the Town of Webster Custodial Department in 2016, prior to that working with D. Mason Paving for many years. Ted was a member of Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday July 24, 2024 at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Webster. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 5-7pm at the Church, 35 Lake Parkway Webster MA 01570 Bartel Funeral Home, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley is directing arrangements.
