Obituary of Roberta S Bartel

Dudley- Roberta S. ( Matthews) Bartel 82 died September 18 , 2024 at her home after a battle with cancer . Daughter of the late Frances (Ahearn) and Robert Matthews. Predeceased by her husband Mark L. Bartel. She leaves her son Mark R. Bartel and his wife Cheryl (Morrison) Bartel of Dudley, her daughter Suzanne Gryb and her husband RJ Gryb of Charlton, her granddaughter Heather Reid and her husband Daniel Reid of New Bedford and two grandsons Matthew Robert Bartel of Dudley and Jake Leopold Gryb and his wife Colby (Amor) of Charlton. She also leaves three beloved great grandchildren Wayke Kimball Gryb, Lucille Frances Gryb and Finn Daniel Reid. Dear brother Donald D. Matthews and his wife Mariana of Falmouth, brother in law Charles W. Bartel of Norwood and several nieces . Mom worked at Liberty Mutual then at Chemung Hill School in Stoughton Public School Principal's Assistant . After moving to Dudley in 1976 she worked for the Dudley Board of Health and later was the first Executive Director at Joshua Place in Dudley . She later was Executive Director for the Webster Housing Authority before retiring to care for her husband . Per her wishes services of A Private Mass of Christian burial .
