Obituary: Judson Wyant Wetteland (1946-2024) Dudley, MA – Judson Wyant Wetteland, 78, of Dudley, MA, passed away peacefully at Brookside Rehabilitation Center in Webster, MA, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Charlton City, MA, on October 21, 1946, Judson was the son of the late John and Mary Wetteland. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years, Goldie, in 2023. Together, Judson and Goldie built a life rooted in love, family, and cherished memories. Judson, known to all as "Gramps", was a man whose world revolved around his family. He is survived by his sister Laurel A. Russell of Charlton, sister Mary E. Scanlon of Charlton, and brother Wayne R. Wetteland of Lake Tahoe, NV. He was predeceased by his brother John M. "Jack" Wetteland in 1979. A proud father, Judson is survived by his children, Jackie Jean Brogna of Sturbridge, MA, Carrie Freeman of Ashford, CT, Victoria Laffond of Athol, MA, Bobby Jo Wetteland of Worcester, MA, Douglas Remillard and his wife Patricia of Ohio, Keith Remillard, his wife Julie and their two children Blake and Quinn of Dudley, MA and Scott Remillard of Charlton, MA. He was predeceased by his son, Jason Wetteland, and his stepdaughter, Sandra Remillard. Judson's legacy lives on in the hearts of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of his life. He found immense pride in watching them grow, thrive, and play sports. Whether cheering them on from the sidelines or sharing in their accomplishments, Gramps was always there, offering a listening ear and words of encouragement. A dedicated worker, Judson spent 30 years as a heavy machine operator for the Providence and Worcester Railroad. He was a hardworking man who believed in giving his best to everything he did, whether at work or at home. Outside of work, Judson enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He loved deep sea fishing, rooting on the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, visiting Walt Disney World with his family, and riding his John Deere tractor. Judson's warmth, generosity, and unwavering support made him a pillar of strength to his family and friends. He was always there for others, offering his love, and a helping hand whenever needed. His passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the memories he created with those he loved. A service will be held Monday Dec.2,2024 at Bartel Funeral Home located at 33 Schofield Ave Dudley, Calling hours are 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM Judson will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
