Charles L Dickson, age 85, of Dudley died Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center-University Campus of Worcester, MA with his loved ones at his side. Charles was born September 7, 1939, in Worcester, MA. He was the son of the late Leander and the late Anna (Rebokis) Dickson. He was raised and lived in Oxford, MA before moving to Dudley in 1981. Mr. Dickson was a 1957 graduate of Oxford High School and attended the Worcester Boys Trade School. He worked at Wright Line and Riley Stoker in Worcester as a draftsman for several years, then for 25 years, at Bancroft Motors as their Body Shop Forman, retiring in 1985.
He was a former member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford. Charles was an accomplished auto body repair man and an ace carpenter. He spent countless hours refurbishing cars in his garage and built several homes in the area for his family. Charles could fix anything and was always willing to help his family and friends when they were in need. He was a member of the Classic T-Bird Club International and enjoyed attending many classic car meets in the area in his '57 T-Bird that he personally restored to perfection.
Charles is survived by his wife of 64 years Betty (Javery) Dickson, two sons: Michael Dickson of Charlton, MA and Charles Dickson Jr. and his wife Cheryl Dickson of Dudley, MA; three grandsons: Taylor Dickson, Kyle Dickson, and Colin Dickson; and two great grandsons: Myles Dickson and Calvin Dickson.
He is also survived by his sister Carolyn Collins of Perham, ME, predeceased by his brother, Joseph Dickson in 2007.
Services will be private at Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley, MA. Burial will be private at St. Roch's Cemetery at a later date.
